Environmental Justice Strategic Plan Information

The Justice Department's Environmental Justice Strategic Plan fulfills the Department's responsibilities under Executive Orders 12898 and 14096. The new strategic plan fully incorporates and thereby supersedes the 2022 Comprehensive Environmental Justice Enforcement Strategy and the Department's 2014 environmental justice guidance and strategy, while including significant elements from both.

Meaningful Engagement and Consultation in the Development of the Environmental Justice Strategic Plan

The Department, through the Office of Environmental Justice, sought verbal and written comments on its draft goals and objectives for the plan. Options to provide input included:

  • Virtual listening sessions on May 29 and 30, 2024 [youtube.com];
  • Virtual and in-person Tribal consultations and listening sessions;
