E-Book Lawsuit Against Apple and Five Publishers
Attorney General Eric Holder, along with Acting Assistant Attorney General of the Antitrust Division Sharis A. Pozen and Connecticut Attorney General George Jepsen, held a press conference announcing a lawsuit against Apple Inc. and a group of publishers for conspiring to end e-book retailers' freedom to compete on price. The department also announced it had reached a proposed settlement with Hachette, Harpercollins and Simon & Schuster; while continuing litigation against Apple, Macmillan and Penguin.
