To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Title IX, the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division held a virtual program featuring opening remarks from Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Kristen Clarke, and a panel discussion with Ria Tabacco Mar, Director of the ACLU Women’s Law Project; Nic Oke, a member of the GLSEN National Student Council; Shiwali Patel, Director of Justice for Student Survivors at the National Women’s Law Center; and Shaheena Simons, Chief of the Civil Rights Division’s Educational Opportunities Section.  Amanda Dallo, Deputy Chief in the Civil Rights Division’s Educational Opportunities Section, moderated the panel.  The panelists discussed the past, present, and future of gender equity in education, and addressed questions from members of the audience.
