Public Corruption

Deterring public corruption is essential to improving the quality of life. Citizens need to know that they can county on their elected officials to serve in the best interests of the public.

The Public Corruption Unit of the U.S. Attorney’s Office investigates and prosecutes violations of the federal law in bribery, extortion, police brutality, theft of government property, and other cases involving breach of the public trust. Our work includes cases against elected officials, public contractors, building inspectors, and police officers, among others.
