Tahlequah Resident Pleads Guilty To Federal Firearm Crime

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Laura Gema Carroll, age 36, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, entered a guilty plea to one count of Felon in Possession of Firearm and Ammunition.

The Indictment charged Carroll with knowingly possessing one .380ACP caliber, semi-automatic pistol and five rounds of .380ACP caliber ammunition on June 12, 2024, after having been previously convicted of a crime punishable by more than one year imprisonment.

The charges arose from an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Tahlequah Police Department.

The Honorable D. Edward Snow, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report.  Carroll will remain in the custody of the United States Marshals Service pending sentencing.
