Loan Programs for Those in Danger of Foreclosure

There are several Pennsylvania state agencies that may be able to help homeowners in danger of foreclosure to obtain new loans or refinance existing loans. The loan programs include the Homeowners’ Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program or HEMAP, the Refinance to an Affordable Loan or REAL program, and the Homeowners'; Equity Recovery Opportunity Loan Program or HERO.

The federal government has established several loan modification and refinance programs.  They include the Home Affordable Modification Program or HAMP, and the home Affordable Refinancing Program, or HARP.  To find out about these programs, you can go to the following web site: http://makinghomeaffordable.gov/.
