Environmental Justice and Public Health
The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Texas enforces federal laws that are designed to protect not just the American people, but also the nation's natural resources. The substantial overlap that exists between protecting people and places prompted the Department of Justice to create an Office of Environmental Justice. Environmental Justice is the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color, national origin, or income with respect to the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies.
Federal Environment Laws:
- Clean Air Act
- Clean Water Act
- Safe Drinking Water Act
- "The Superfund Act"
