EBRSO Evening of Remembrance

USAO-MDLA, alongside local law enforcement, honored the lives and    memories of homicide victims during East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office’s Ninth Annual Evening of Remembrance which was held on April 22, 2015.  Guest Speaker Felicia Young spoke of her 7-year-old son, Terez Coleman, who was fatally injured by a random bullet that was fired into the family’s vehicle while returning home from a family reunion.

Names of 70 homicide victims who died between January 1, 2014 and March 15, 2015, were read aloud during a candlelight ceremony.  Representatives from each family  were encouraged to appear on stage to receive a candle from Sheriff Gautreaux on behalf of their loved one.
