Together for Josie:

On Tuesday, March 10, 2015, Deputy U.S. Marshal Josie Wells was killed in the line of duty when a task force consisting law enforcement from the Baton Rouge area and the U.S. Marshals Service attempted to arrest a murder suspect at the Elm Grove Motel.

WAFB Channel 9 and the U.S. Marshal’s Office organized a donation drive for DUSM Wells’ wife and unborn child.  On March 18, 2015, USAO-MDLA participated in the donation drive along with the Marshal’s Service, East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, Baton Rouge Police Department, East Baton Rouge District Attorney’s Office, and Louisiana Probation Office to raise over $52,000.
