Syracuse Man Sentenced To 100 Months For Drug Conspiracy

SYRACUSE, NEW YORK – Ricardo Lane, age 43, of Syracuse, was sentenced today to 100 months in federal prison for conspiring to possess with intent to distribute cocaine. United States Attorney John A. Sarcone III, Frank A. Tarentino III, Special Agent in Charge, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), New York Division, and Erin Keegan, Special Agent in Charge of the Buffalo Field Office of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) made the announcement.
As part of his prior guilty plea, Lane admitted that from April 2021 through July 2022 he conspired with others to distribute cocaine in Onondaga County. Lane had a prior 2007 federal conviction for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine and cocaine base.
Senior United States District Judge Glenn T. Suddaby also ordered Lane to serve a 5-year term of supervised release following his release from prison.
This case was investigated by the DEA, U.S. Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI), HSI, United States Postal Inspection Service, and Syracuse Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Geoffrey Brown and Michael Gadarian prosecuted the case.
This case is also part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation. OCDETF identifies, disrupts and dismantles the highest-level drug traffickers, money launderers, gangs and transnational criminal organizations that threaten the United States by using a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach that leverages the strengths of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies against criminal networks.
