Diversity – Black History Month SEPM Event

Alexandria V. Taylor, Executive Director of Valencia Shelter Services, was the special guest at the USAO’s Black History Month SEPM Event. Ms. Taylor discussed the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), focusing specifically on its important impact for communities of color. Her presentation included an overview of the history and evolution of VAWA and its impact on communities of color. Joining Ms. Taylor and more than 50 members of the USAO’s staff were representatives from the Coalition to Stop Violence Against Native American Women and the New Mexico Coalition Against Domestic Violence. The event was coordinated by Smart on Crime AUSA Henderson, who serves as the Special Emphasis Program Manager (SEPM) for Black Affairs Program in the USAO’s ABQ office, and Legal Assistant Jessica Masoner with assistance from Victim Witness Specialist Alyssa Skrepcinski.
