United States v Salomon E. Melgen

On April 14, 2015, a federal grand jury in West Palm Beach, Florida, returned a 76 count indictment against Salomon E. Melgen.   The indictment charges that the defendant engaged in a scheme to defraud Medicare and other health care benefit programs, that he submitted false claims to Medicare and that he made false entries into patient medical charts.  A copy of the indictment and the press release issued by the United States Attorney’s Office are attached.    The defendant was arraigned on April 15, 2015.    He is currently released on bond conditions which include home confinement and electronic monitoring.   A status conference has been scheduled before Judge Kenneth A. Marra on February 19, 2016.  The trial date of September 19, 2016 has been continued.   The new trial date is March 6, 2017
