Environmental Justice

The Office of the United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, working with other agencies, seeks to identify and pursue remedies for environmental injustices. The term “environmental injustices” refers to circumstances in which environmental harms, including threats to human health and to natural resources, are disproportionately imposed on underserved and marginalized communities, both rural and urban, including low-income communities, communities of color, and indigenous communities.

If you are aware of a circumstance within the Western District of Missouri that you believe constitutes an environmental injustice or gives rise to an environmental justice concern, and would like to bring it to the attention of this office, you may do so by sending an email to: USAMOW.Environment@usdoj.gov.   You may also call the office of the United States Attorney at 816-426-3122. Please state in detail the nature, location and source of the environmental harm or threatened harm, and provide information by which you can be contacted for further information.
