BUFFALO, N.Y.-U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul Jr. announced today that Morrell Buster, 43, of Buffalo, NY, pleaded guilty before Senior U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny, to possession with intent to distribute, and distribution of crack cocaine. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison and a $2,000,000 fine.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy C. Lynch, who is handling the case, stated that between June 2013 and February 25, 2014, the defendant purchased and then distributed crack cocaine. On January 17, 2014, Buster was found in possession of three grams of crack cocaine while at the Niagara Outlet Mall in Niagara County, NY.
The plea is the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Adam S. Cohen and the Lackawanna Police Department, under the direction of Chief James Michel.
Sentencing is scheduled for June 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. before Judge Skretny.
