Robert J. Troester serves as the Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma. Troester joined the United States Attorney’s Office in 1995 coming from private practice in Oklahoma City. As an Assistant United States Attorney, he served as ACE Coordinator and Civil Health Care Fraud Coordinator. Continuously since 2002, he has served in various supervisory positions including Civil Chief, Executive Assistant U.S. Attorney, First Assistant U.S. Attorney, and Acting United States Attorney on two prior occasions.
Troester has also served on assignments within the Department of Justice in Washington D.C. as a Deputy Director of Legal Programs for the Executive Office for United States Attorneys (EOUSA) from 2001-2002 and as the EOUSA’s National Affirmative Civil Fraud (ACE) Coordinator from 1999-2000. Most recently, he served as Associate Deputy Attorney General and Senior Counsel to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein from April 2017 to January 2018.
From 2005 to 2007, Troester was appointed by the Attorney General to serve as the sole career employee member of the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee (AGAC). Currently, he serves as Vice-Chair of the AGAC Health Care Fraud Working Group, Vice-Chair of the AGAC Civil Rights Subcommittee, and Chair of the EOUSA IT Investment Review Board.
