Robert J. Troester serves as the Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma. Troester joined the United States Attorney’s Office in 1995 coming from private practice. As an Assistant United States Attorney, he has held various supervisory positions including Civil Chief, Executive Assistant U.S. Attorney, First Assistant U.S. Attorney, and Acting U.S. Attorney on two prior occasions. From 2005 to 2007, he was appointed by the Attorney General to serve on the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee. Troester has also served on assignments within the Department of Justice in Washington D.C. as a Deputy Director in the Executive Office for United States Attorneys from 2001-2002. He also served as Associate Deputy Attorney General and Senior Counsel to the Deputy Attorney General from April 2017 to January 2018. Troester earned his Juris Doctorate from the Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1987.
