The U.S. Attorney's Office Co-sponsors Launch of Juvenile Ceasefire Program

April 26, 2016

EAUSA Biggers talks to juvenile offenders about refraining from a life of crime.

The launch of Memphis’ Juvenile Ceasefire program took place in April. The U.S. Attorney’s Office, in collaboration with Shelby County Juvenile Court, Tennessee Department of Correction, and Memphis Police Department’s Project Safe Neighborhood Task Force are sponsoring the program.

Juvenile Ceasefire participants have pending gun charges. Completing the course, along with other conditions, may expunge the charge from their record.

During the program’s launch, EAUSA David Biggers spoke to students about the potential barriers and penalties they face if they continue to unlawfully possess firearms and indulge in a criminal lifestyle.
