TRENTON, N.J. – A New York man admitted transporting minors across state lines to engage in illicit sexual conduct.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A federal jury has convicted a 72-year-old Annapolis, Maryland, man of numerous child exploitation and pornography crimes.

MICHAEL DiMASSA, 32, of West Haven, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Omar A. Williams in Hartford to 27 months of imprisonment, followed five years of supervised release, for his involvement in schemes that resulted in the theft of more than $1.2 million dollars in COVID relief funds and other funds from the City of West Haven.  Judge Williams also ordered DiMassa to perform 100 hours of community service while on supervised release.

CHRISTOPHER MIKE GARBOWSKI, of Sterling Heights, Mich., conducted illegal charter operations on Lake Michigan and the Chicago River.

Nathaniel Begay made an initial appearance in federal court on an indictment charging him with assault with a dangerous weapon and using a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence.

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA – JONATHAN LEWIS, age 39, a resident of Bogalusa, Louisiana, was sentenced on May 25, 2023, to serve three concurrent sentences of 60 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to two counts of distribution of cocaine (Title 21, United States Code, Sections 841(a)(1) and 841(b)(1)(C)) and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm (Title 18, United States Code, Sections 922(g)(1) and 924(a)(8)), announced U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans.
