MARCELL LONDON, 34, a resident of New Orleans, was sentenced today to sixty months imprisonment by U. S. District Judge Helen G. Berrigan after pleading guilty to heroin conspiracy and distribution charges, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten. In addition to the term of imprisonment, Judge Berrigan imposed four (4) years of supervisory release following the term of imprisonment, during which time the defendant will be under federal supervision and risks an additional term of imprisonment should he violate any terms of his supervised release.

LONDON pled guilty on September 14, 2011, to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute one hundred grams or more of heroin and two counts of distribution of a quantity of heroin.

According to court records, beginning at a time unknown and continuing until on or about November 9, 2010, in the Eastern District of Louisiana, LONDON, did knowingly and intentionally conspire and agree with others to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute one hundred (100) grams or more of heroin.

Also, according to court records, on or about June 7, 2010 and on November 9, 2010, in the Eastern District of Louisiana, LONDON, did knowingly and intentionally distribute a quantity of heroin.

The investigation is being conducted by Special Agents of the Drug Enforcement Administration. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney Andre’ Jones.
