KENYATTE D. PEA SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS IN DRUG CASE
KENYATTE D. PEA , age 34, a resident of Hammond, Louisiana was sentenced yesterday by U. S. District Judge Ivan Lemelle for violations of the Federal Controlled Substances Act involving the distribution of crack cocaine, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.
On August 31, 2011 PEA pled guilty to two counts of distribution of over 100 grams of crack cocaine in Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
PEA was sentenced to 188 months (15 years), four (4) years of supervised release, and a mandatory $100.00 special assessment. In addition, PEA is currently on Federal supervised release and faces additional penalties for distribution of crack cocaine and his revocation hearing is scheduled for July 25, 2012 before U. S. District Judge Matin L.C. Feldman.
The case was investigated by Special Agents of the Drug Enforcement Administration.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney W. Scott Laragy.
