JUNIOR REYNALDO HERNANDEZ-RODRIGUEZ, age 32, a citizen of Honduras, pled guilty in federal court today before U. S. District Judge Kurt D. Engelhardt to count one of a superseding bill of information charging him with failure to depart the United States, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.

According the factual basis, on or about April 25, 2008, in the Eastern District of Louisiana, HERNANDEZ, an alien who was subject to a final order of removal, failed and refused to surrender himself to the Department of Homeland Security for removal.

HERNANDEZ faces a maximum term of four (4) years imprisonment, a fine of $250,000, and one (1) year of supervised release following any term of imprisonment. Sentencing is scheduled for January 9, 2013 at 9:00 A.M.

The case was investigated by U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement - Homeland Security Investigations and the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The case is being prosecuted by Special Assistant U. S. Attorney Robert Weir.
