TRANSIENT MAN, CALUM ARTHUR CONWAY, SENTENCED FOR ILLEGAL FIREARM POSSESSION
CALUM ARTHUR CONWAY, age 22, a transient to New Orleans, Louisiana, was sentenced yesterday by U. S. District Judge Eldon E. Fallon to twenty-two (22) months imprisonment for his illegal firearm possession announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten. In addition to the term of imprisonment, Judge Fallon imposed on CONWAY three (3) years of supervised release following the term of imprisonment, during which time the defendant will be under federal supervision and risks an additional term of imprisonment should he violate any terms of his supervised release.
According to court records, CONWAY, a previously convicted felon, sought out a firearm and was placed in touch with an undercover law enforcement officer. CONWAY was arrested once he took possession of the firearm from the undercover agent.
This case was investigated jointly by Special Agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and was prosecuted by Tony Sanders of the Violent Crimes Unit.
