Bill Mercer, United States Attorney for the District of Montana, announced today that on September 30, 2009, in Helena, after a 3-day federal district court trial before Senior U.S. District Judge Charles C. Lovell, DEVLIN EUGENE MOORE, a 45-year-old resident formerly of Meridian, Mississippi and currently of Trenton, North Dakota, and CHRISTIAN THOMAS GOCHIS, a 40-year-old resident of Drummond, were found guilty of conspiracy to manufacture marijuana and conspiracy to distribute marijuana. Sentencing is set for December 17, 2009. They are currently detained.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Paulette L. Stewart prosecuted the case for the United States.

They each face possible penalties of a mandatory minimum of 5 years in prison and could be sentenced to 40 years, a $2,000,000 fine and at least 4 years supervised release. .

The investigation was a cooperative effort between the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Southwest Montana Drug Task Force.
