Kevin Leroy Crowder Found Guilty in U.S. Federal Court

Bill Mercer, United States Attorney for the District of Montana, announced today that on December 21, 2009, in Missoula, after a one-day federal district court trial before U.S. District Judge Donald W. Molloy, KEVIN LEROY CROWDER, a 50-year-old resident of Bozeman, was found guilty of failure to register as a sexual offender. Sentencing is set for April 2, 2010. He is currently detained.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Marcia Hurd prosecuted the case for the United States.

CROWDER faces possible penalties of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and five years to life time supervised release.

The investigation was conducted by a cooperative effort between the United States Marshals Service and Gallatin County Sheriff's Office.
