The United States Attorney's Office announced that during a federal court session in Billings, on January 4, 2011, before Chief U.S. District Judge Richard F. Cebull, ALLEN BLAKE WHITE BEAR, a 30-year-old resident of Lodge Grass, pled guilty to felony child abuse and neglect. Sentencing has been set for April 6, 2011. He is currently detained.

In an Offer of Proof filed by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lori Harper Suek, the government stated it would have proved at trial the following:

On March 27, 2010, WHITE BEAR, Natasha Yarlott, and Marcia Yarlott were smoking meth in a car near a school in Lodge Grass. They were captured on the school's surveillance camera footage passing a pipe around. During individual interviews, they all admitted smoking meth.

Also in the car at the time was J.T.E., Marcia Yarlott's seven-month old son.

Marcia Yarlott and Natasha Yarlott pled guilty to federal charges and are awaiting sentencing.

WHITE BEAR faces possible penalties of 5 years in prison, a $10,000 fine and 3 years supervised release.

The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
