NDIC Locations
NDIC has offices at two locations:
Johnstown, PA and
Washington, DC
Situated at the
junction of the Conemaugh and Stonycreek Rivers, Johnstown is
a microcosm of rich ethnic heritage, traditional family values,
and civic pride. Johnstowners enjoy the rich scenery and seasonal
sport and recreational opportunities provided by the mountains
of Laurel Highlands and Southern Alleghenies.
Johnstown has a rich ethnic heritage as settlers were attracted
by the promise of a better life from the ever-expanding steel
industry. In recent years, diversification and growth have become
the hallmark of Johnstown development. The two-county area consists
of Cambria and Somerset Counties and covers 1,763 square miles
with a population of 241,247.
The dominance of
the steel and coal industries is being replaced by other business
interests including the National Drug Intelligence Center.
Johnstown's citizens are proud of the expansive campus of the
University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, Pennsylvania Highlands
Community College; high-tech industries, and a major health care
facility, Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. (Source: Greater
Johnstown/Cambria County Chamber of Commerce, Inc.)
