Threat assessments, NDIC's primary intelligence products, provide policymakers and counterdrug executives with timely, predictive reports of the threat posed by illicit drugs in the United States.

PDF files are provided to produce high quality copies of our products.

The National Drug Threat Assessment, NDIC's major intelligence product, is a comprehensive, annual report on national drug trafficking and abuse trends within the United States. The assessment identifies the primary drug threat to the nation, monitors fluctuations in consumption levels, tracks drug availability by geographic market, and analyzes trafficking and distribution patterns. The report highlights the most current quantitative and qualitative information on availability, demand, production and cultivation, transportation, and distribution, as well as the effects of a particular drug on abusers and society as a whole.

Regional Drug Threat Assessments address the status and outlook of the drug threat to various regions of the United States. They cover regional trafficking, distribution, and abuse patterns associated with methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, marijuana, and other dangerous drugs.

Bulletins and Briefs are developed in response to new trends or high-priority drug issues. They are quickly relayed to the law enforcement and intelligence communities and are intended to warn law enforcement officials of emerging trends.

Counternarcotics Publications Quarterly is an annotated bibliography of counterdrug publications from various federal, state, and local agencies. It includes military reports, intelligence memorandums, white papers, and targeted studies submitted by various agencies.

Drug Market Analyses examine the market dynamics and the trafficking, distribution, and abuse patterns associated with cocaine, heroin, marijuana, MDMA, methamphetamine, and other dangerous drugs within United States major cities.

Drug Money Laundering reports examine money laundering threats to the United States focusing on the primary methods used to launder illicit drug proceeds.

Intelligence Information Reports are based on interviews conducted by National Drug Intelligence Center (NDIC) Field Intelligence Officers (FIOs) with a local, state, or federal contact. The FIOs collect information and data for the National Drug Threat Assessment and other NDIC intelligence products. Law enforcement sources, methods, and case-sensitive information have been removed from these reports. The information in these reports is not finished intelligence and has not been formally evaluated by the intelligence/law enforcement community.

NDIC produces Situation Reports providing a time-sensitive overview of the drug threat posed by various drugs.
