According to Census 2000 population data, Los Angeles and San Diego are major cities with populations of 1,000,000 or more. Anaheim, Long Beach, Riverside, and Santa Ana are major cities with populations of 250,000-999,999. Bakersfield, Glendale, Huntington Beach, Santa Clarita, San Bernardino, and El Centro are cities with populations of 175,000-249,999.
International airports are located at Los Angeles and San Diego, California, and Yuma, Arizona.
Major seaports are located at Los Angeles and San Diego.
The interstates within this region are I-5, I-8, I-10, I-15, I-40, and I-805.
The state highways are routes 86 and 111.
The border crossings are San Ysidro, Otay Mesa, Tecate, Calexico West, Calexico East, and Andrade.
