Dear Attorney General Ashcroft,
The subject words are from our pledge of allegiance to the flag and the republic for which it stands.
Yet gays, bisexuals, lesbians and our transgendered are deny the right to marry.
I strongly urge you to treat the life partners of all the gay and lesbian victims of 9/11 EXACTLY like heterosexual families. We are human. We bleed when wounded. We morn just as heterosexuals when we lose our "spouses"!!!!
Please follow the lead of Governor Pataki of New York who has said that he will follow an enlightened path and dispense the monies to every victim of the September 11 tragedy without regard for sexual orientation. Remember, a great deal of that money came from gays and lesbians as well as heterosexuals.
