Compensation for surviving partners from the Gay Community
Attachment 1:
To Whom It May Concern:
No amount of money can repay anyone for the loss of a family member, ever. What is required here is a fair distribution of the funds that were collected by a
diverse America for the diverse group of survivors of the 9/11 tragedy. Nobody asked anyone's characteristics that day as people helped each other. Don't ask
now. Loss is Loss. Pain is Pain.Trauma is Trauma. Injury is Injury. Gay people feel no less or no more than anyone else.Surviving domestic partners of Gay
people who were murdered on 9/11 whether in New York, Pennsylvania or Washington, D.C. are grieving and are deserving of care and compensation along
with the other Survivors.
I am saddened for all their suffering and even more so for Gay families, that in their grief, they also face the ugliness of anti-gay prejudice.America is better than
this.
