beneficiaries
I saw all the carnage etc taking place on 911 and
although I do not qualify as a beneficiary even in the
remotest sense of the word I am writing the many who
should.
I am asking under the equal rights amendment of the
United States Constitution that ALL people who lost
loved ones in 911--especially gay people who are US
Citizens in a committed relationship of 6 months or
more be given benefits for the loss of their partners
just as heterosexuals who lost their wives or
husbands. Bigotry should have no role in the
distribution of these funds.
Through the bigotry of many in this country; Gay
people, except in Vermont, have been denied the right
to marry and I feel that it is a just recompense to
recognize the relationships these men and women had.
with their partners through giving US Citizen victim's
partners compensation.
I wish to remind you that Canadian Gay Partners are
recieving compensation under the Laws of Canada and it
is only fair that US citizens also do.
