Equal Compensation

I must say how sorry I am to have heard about your Final Policy, which effectively disbars gay and lesbian partners and families of 9-11 victims from compensation.

The tragedy of 9-11 effected everyone in the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and Flight 93. The terrorists had little concern as to whether their victims were gay or straight. Why should our government have such concern? I understand that illegal aliens will be able to come forward to gain their just compensation. I have no complaint on that front-they are just as injured as anyone else. It is strange, however, that their path to restitution has been smoothed, while gay and lesbian Americans have had barriers placed in their way. Surely similar accomodation to that granted to the illegals can be found.

I would expect that our government would be as concerned to mitigate the suffering of all Americans who went through the horror of 9-11 as it is to wage the war on terrorism. Please reconsider your policy so that true justice can be served.

Yours truly,
