SEPT. 11 COMPENSATION
I am outraged to learn that domestic partners of Gay and Lesbian people
will not receive compensation for the loss of their loved ones in this
terrible tragedy.
Hasn't there been enough proof that the majority of Gays are fine,
upstanding citizens who are patriotic and have a love for their country?
How dare they be discriminated against in such an arbitrary manner
simply because of their sexual orientation?
I am an 81 year old straight, senior citizen who has been involved with
helping the Gay and Lesbian Community for more than 20 years. My life
has been enriched and enhanced through my contacts with these highly
intelligent, talented, caring and compassionate people. They do not
deserve this unfair and inequitable treatment. I urge you to reconsider
your
manner of thinking and include domestic partners in receiving benefits
they are entitled to regardless of their sexual orientation.
Sincerely yours,
