9/11 Fund

To Whom It May Concern:

I was disappointed and outraged to hear that the partners and families of gay and lesbian people who died during the September 11 attacks would not be allowed the same compensation as the spouses and families of the heterosexual victims. To me, the message this decision sends is clear: gay and lesbian families are not valid and do not deserve the same consideration given to other families. How can you disregard federal law about immigration and give compensation to illegal aliens and yet ignore the life partners of gay and lesbian citizens? I urge you to reconsider this decision and extend help and comfort to all who lost family members and whose lives were forever changed by the events of September 11. Thank you.

Sincerely,
