Mr. Feinberg:
I heard today, with more than a little dismay and disgust, that your
organization intends to deny partners of homosexual vicitms of September
11 the benefits that are to be paid to illegal immigrants and
non-citizens who also lost family members in the attacks.
Can you explain to me how you justify this? I was under the impression
that the September 11th Fund was created to ease the financial burden of
victims' spouses and loved ones. Are you and your collegues suggesting
that the gay spouses and loved ones are somehow less deserving of our
help and compassion? That homosexuals who died on the 11th due to the
intolerance and hatred of a group of people are of less value? Are you
really prepared to perpetrate intolerance and demonstrate such a
stunning lack of compassion? What drives this decision of the Fund?
Misguided and narrow-minded morals? A personal agenda? Finances? Please
tell me how you can turn your back on Americans like   , one
of the heros of Flight 93, and his loved ones.
I am saddened and angered by the September 11th Fund's policy. I urge
you to search your heart, and change your mind.
Sincerely,
