Gay and Lesbian Partners of Sept. 11th

The exclusion of gay and lesbian partners from recieving government benefits from the September 11th attacks would be just as much a crime of hate and misunderstanding as the terrorism our country is fighting against. To descriminate based upon sexual orientation or preference denies us all the right to the freedom of choice, the ability to be who we are without fear of penalty or rebuke: the essence of what makes our country great. A loved one is loved regardless of age, sex, religion, or sexual preference. We have all suffered a great loss, and to aggrevate that through our own blind fears and prejudices would be unacceptable.

Sincerely,
