To whom it may concern:

How can you let my friend and her children suffer from the loss of her partner who worked at WTC 2?

When I heard this I couldn't believe they would not receive compensation from the Federal Government as are everyone else. Even the foreigners who were working in NYC illegally are being compensated. I cannot understand how being a lesbian couple can place them in a status of not qualifying.

I have watched the suffering and the pain at this funeral. And I still am so surprised at this. These children are not old enough now to understand this. And to think of them being proud Americans once this is learned..... It doesn't make sense and is by no means fair.

This decision needs to be reviewed. This tradgedy was a human issue, not an aftermath issue of who is affected and who isn't. ALL families of loved ones have been affected. And in particular these include the spouses and lifemates who have children to raise.

I hope this can be changed. It would be the right thing to do.

Thank you
