collateral benefits
As a spouse of a deceased victim of the September 11th attacks, I do not
believe that the compensation for myself and my son should be reduced because
of insurance payments. My family and I were living on reduced income in
order to pay premiums for a life insurance policy. My husband's foresight to
provide for his family's future and the sacrifice of current income for
potential future protection should not be used to penalize his heirs.
