To Whom It May concern
I am writing to you because I would like to know what the
difference is between a grieving spouse and a grieving domestic partner who
are interdependent on one another? Is my loss any different because I don't
have a marriage certificate? Is my pain and suffering and economic loss less
or insignificant because I wasn't married? Did I love my fiancee less than
the next person loved their spouse? Did her paycheck pay bills or go for
entertainment? Who decides who has a valid claim? Who decides what the value
of that claim is? I understand there needs to be checks and balances but
documented pain and suffering and economic loss of interdependent victims and
domestic partners should be included in the claim process because we are no
different than anyone else who lost a loved one.
