Federal Victims Compenstaion Program
The proposed Federal Victims Compensation Program (FVCP) is a disgrace. Is this the way our country wants to pay back it's heroes. My husband was a firefighter lost at the WTC. By the time you deduct pension, life insurance and charitable donations I will be granted $0 by the FVCP.
Why should we be penalized because my husband sacrificed to make sure he provided for his family in the event of his death.
did you ever take into account the high premiums my husband had paid over decades to provide us with insurance. Did you ever consider the fact that firefighters are paid paltry wages. Like many other firefighters my husband worked 2 to 3 jobs to make ends meet. If you think a firefighter widow can get by on our pension you are sorely mistaken.
Correct a wrong. Take care of the people who have sacrificed for the good of this country.
