I am afraid that I agree with many people who say that these victims families are getting rich off this unfortunate experience. One father says he is not going to become a millionaire off his son's death but in the next sentence, the reporter tells the article that each family will likely get 1.6 million dollars.
I too have lost a loved one. My youngest son was killed in a horrible accident but there is no obligation for anyone to pay me 1.6 million. I'm sure that those killed had insurance, etc., etc., so why do they feel they need even more to pay their bills? Are we to support them for the rest of their lives? Life goes on and more and more tradegies befall families on a daily basis. Why are these families any different from anyone else's who loses a loved one? Tragedy is tragedy, no matter how it occurs. And lives are never the same......
When I see articles such as these, it makes me embarrassed that these families continue to seek more & more money for their loss. That is nothing more than pure greed and seeking materialism.
