Synthetic Cathinones (Bath Salts): An Emerging Domestic Threat
This situation report provides an assessment of the ability and abuse of synthetic Cathinones, commonly known as "bath salts," and "plant food." It also discusses production and distribution, lists common synthetic Cathinones, and provides background information. The National Drug Intelligence Center assesses with high confidence that the distribution and abuse of synthetic Cathinones will increase in the United States, posting yet another challenge to U.S. law enforcement officials.
