Montgomery, Alabama – Marvin Rush, 31, of Tuskegee, Alabama, was sentenced on June 30, 2010, by the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama, to 60 months’ imprisonment following his conviction for knowingly and intentionally possessing with intent to distribute 5 grams or more of cocaine base, more commonly known as “crack,” announced U. S. Attorney Leura G. Canary. Rush was also sentenced to serve four years of supervised release under the supervision of a federal probation officer following his release from prison. There is no parole from federal prison.

Rush pled guilty in March 2010 after having been indicted for knowingly and intentionally possessing crack with the intent to distribute.

The case was investigated through the joint efforts of the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Auburn Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney W. Brent Woodall.
