
Alabama Receives $5,863,546 from Justice Department to Help Crime Victims
Montgomery, Alabama - The Office for Victims of Crime in the Justice Department awarded $5,863,546 in grant money to the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs, Law Enforcement and Traffic Safety Division., announced George L. Beck, Jr., United States Attorney, Middle District of Alabama. This grant money provides funds to enhance crime victim services in the State of Alabama. The State of Alabama then awards these funds to local, community-based organizations that provide direct services to crime victims.
“Victims of crimes often need lots of help,” stated U.S. Attorney Beck. “I am proud that the Department of Justice continues to allocate grant money to the victims in the State of Alabama to help those going through a horrible time in the victims’ lives.”
