Sentencing In BP Fraud Case
April 12, 2012
United States Attorney Kenyen R. Brown announced today that Danielle Michelle Packer, a Mobile, Alabama resident who was indicted by the November 2011 Federal Grand Jury, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge DuBose to five years probation, four months home confinement and ordered to pay $10,700.00 in restitution. Packer had previously entered a guilty plea to mail fraud in connection with a false BP claim.
Packer admitted that she had submitted a false claim and received monies to which she was not entitled.
The case arose from an investigation by the United States Secret Service and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Deborah Griffin.
