The United States Attorney, Kenyen R. Brown is pleased to announce the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Alabama has been noted as one of the most prolific federal prosecuting offices in the country, in that it secured a spot in the top ten ranking of districts that registered the largest number of convictions per capita. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Alabama ranked number seven in a field of ninety four other districts. This office ranked forty ninth one year ago and sixty first five years ago. In April 2012 the Justice Department said the government obtained 2417.1 convictions for every ten million people in the United States. United States Attorney Kenyen Brown stated, “The high ranking my office was able to achieve is due in no small part to the significant partnerships we have been able to forge with our federal, state and local law enforcement partners, as well as our local prosecuting offices. Moreover, the professionalism, collaboration and positive camaraderie that exists between all levels of law enforcement in the Southern District of Alabama is unparalleled anywhere else in the country. I want to thank all levels of law enforcement in this district for their unswerving commitment to protect our communities.
