EIGHTH CIRCUIT AFFIRMS CONVICTION OF RANDEEP MANN IN 2009 BOMBING CASE
Little Rock - Christopher R. Thyer, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas, released this statement regarding the Eighth Circuit Opinion published today in the Randeep Mann bombing case.
“We are very pleased with the opinion issued today by the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals. The judges obviously spent a great deal of time and energy focusing on the numerous issues presented to them. The United States understands and accepts the reasons for the reversal on the machine gun and sentencing issues and will prepare for the resentencing hearing. The affirmation of the jury’s verdict on the counts of conviction puts to rest any questions of the defendant’s guilt, especially regarding his role in the 2009 bombing of Dr. Trent Pierce.
We would like to express our appreciation to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the federal, state and local partners who conducted the investigation.”
