Jury finds couple guilty of drug conspiracy

Texarkana, Arkansas - Daniel Miller, age 37, and Rebecca Miller, age 39, were found guilty by a jury on May 25, 2011 for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and other charges, announced Conner Eldridge, United States Attorney for the Western District of Arkansas. Honorable Harry F. Barnes was the presiding Judge. A five count Indictment was filed on February 24, 2011 in the United States District Court for the Western District of Arkansas, Texarkana Division. Daniel Miller was found guilty of one count of conspiracy to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine and four counts of aiding and abetting others in the distribution of more than 5 grams of methamphetamine. Rebecca Miller was found guilty of one count of conspiracy to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine and three counts of aiding and abetting others in the distribution of more than 5 grams of methamphetamine. Daniel Miller faces a sentence as to the one count of conviction for conspiracy to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine of not less than 10 years or not more than life imprisonment, not more than $4,000,000 fine, or both; and as to the four counts of convictions for distribution of more than 5 grams of methamphetamine not less than 5 years or not more than 40 years imprisonment, not more than $2,000,000 fine, or both. Rebecca Miller faces a sentence as to the one count of conviction for conspiracy to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine of not less than 10 years or not more than life imprisonment, not more than $4,000,000 fine, or both; and as to the three counts of convictions for distribution of more than 5 grams of methamphetamine not less than 5 years or not more than 40 years imprisonment, not more than $2,000,000 fine, or both. The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Shreveport Police Department, Arkansas State Police, Louisiana State Police, Miller County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bi-State Narcotics Task Force. Assistant United States Attorneys Matthew Quinn and Kenneth Elser prosecuted the case for the United States.
