Statement by U.S. Attorney Troy A. Eid regarding the Department of Justice appellate attorney chosen to argue U.S. v. Joseph P. Nacchio

U.S. Attorney Troy A. Eid announced today that Edwin S. Kneedler, Principal Deputy Solicitor General for the U.S. Department of Justice, will argue for the government in the rare full court (en banc) appeal before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit in United States v. Joseph P. Nacchio.  The oral argument is scheduled for September 25th, 2008 at 1:00 p.m.

"We wanted the best and got him," Eid said.  "Ed Kneedler argued his one-hundredth case in the U.S. Supreme Court earlier this year -- one of just eight people in history to do so.  We'll keep working patiently to bring Mr. Nacchio to justice."
