TWO PEOPLE INDICTED BY FEDERAL GRAND JURY IN DENVER
FOR ROBBING SOUTHWESTERN COLORADO BANKS

DENVER – Troy A. Eid, United States Attorney for the District of Colorado, and James H. Davis, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Denver Division, announced that on May 5, 2008, a federal grand jury in Denver, Colorado, returned an indictment charging KACEY ALLEN FISHER, age 32, of New Mexico, and JULIA NORRIS (aka Julie Gould), age 31, also of New Mexico, with two counts of armed bank robbery.  Both defendants are presently in federal custody in New Mexico on bank robbery charges there.
According to the District of Colorado indictment, on March 26, 2008, FISHER and NORRIS allegedly robbed the Bank of the San Juans in Durango, Colorado using a firearm.  On April 1, 2008, the defendants allegedly robbed the First Southwest Bank in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, also using a firearm.  In addition to the bank robbery charges, the indictment also charges FISHER with using a firearm during and in relation to a crime.
If convicted of armed bank robbery, both defendants face up to 25 years in federal prison, and up to a $250,000 fine.  If FISHER is convicted of using a firearm during and in relation to a crime he faces not less than 7 years consecutive to any other sentence.
“Kudos to the FBI for identifying these defendants,” said U.S. Attorney Troy Eid.
“Bank robberies continue to be a priority of the FBI,” said FBI Special Agent in Charge James Davis.  “This case was possible thanks to the cooperation between Durango and Albuquerque agents and local authorities.”
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Durango Branch Office, with substantial assistance from the Durango Police Department, the Pagosa Springs Police Department, the Farmington Police Department, and the Albuquerque Division of the FBI.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Todd Norvell.
The charges are only allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty.
