FORMER DENVER BRONCO ARRESTED BY DEA
Travis Henry Facing Federal Cocaine Charges
DENVER – Jeffrey D. Sweetin, Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the Rocky Mountain Division of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), announced the arrest of former Denver Bronco football player Travis Henry. Henry, along with James Mack, was arrested yesterday following of a multi-kilogram cocaine transaction that occurred in Centennial, Colorado. Both subjects are in federal custody. This morning the U.S. Attorney’s Office filed federal drug charges against both men in U.S. District Court in Denver.
Henry is scheduled to appear in U.S. District Court in Denver this afternoon (Wednesday, October 1, 2008) at 2:00 pm before U.S. Magistrate Judge Kristen L. Mix. Magistrate Judge Mix is in the Byron G. Rogers United States Courthouse at 1929 Stout Street – Courtroom C-204.

Travis Henry and James Mack appeared in U.S. District Court in Denver this afternoon. They both appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Kristen L. Mix. Henry and Mack were advised of the charges pending against them. Henry has retained counsel. Magistrate Judge Mix appointed counsel to represent Mack unless or until he retains counsel. The U.S. Attorney’s Office requested that the defendants be detained without bond. A preliminary hearing and detention hearing is scheduled for next Monday, October 6, 2008 at 3:30 pm before Magistrate Judge Mix.
The two face one count of conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute cocaine. If convicted, Henry and Mack faces not less than 10 years and up to life in federal prison, as well as a $4,000,000 fine.

UPDATE regarding criminal cocaine case against Travis Henry and James Mack:
Travis Henry and James Mack appeared in U.S. District Court in Denver this afternoon before U.S. Magistrate Judge Kristen L. Mix. The United States Attorney’s Office, District of Colorado, dismissed the Criminal Complaint as to both defendants because they have been charged by Indictment in the District of Montana. During today’s hearing, Henry and Mack were advised of the new charges pending against them in Montana. They waived their right to an identity and removal hearing. Magistrate Judge Mix ordered that Henry could be released on a $400,000 fully secured bond. Mack was ordered released on a $10,000 unsecured bond. If and when the defendants bond out, both Henry and Mack were ordered to submit to electronic monitoring as well as home detention. A status hearing will be held this Wednesday at 10:30 am, also before Magistrate Judge Mix.
